Frequent Questions – Iglesia Catolica Palmariana

Frequently Asked Questions

Who founded the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Palmarian Church?

Jesus Christ. The Palmarian Church is a continuation of the Church founded by Jesus Christ on Calvary. See Hallmarks of the True Church.

How is your Church related to Catholicism?

The Palmarian Church is the Catholic Church of all times.

What links do you have with the Vatican and the roman church?

Absolutely none. The roman church apostatized from Catholicism, dragging with it the vast majority of Catholics from around the world. In some cases these apostasies were out of ignorance but for the most part they were out of indifference and in many cases out of convenience, a lukewarm form of complicity.

Is it really possible that the roman church has apostatized? What about Christ’s promise “The gates of Hell shall not prevail against Her”?

First of all, it has long been prophesied that the Church would suffer a general apostasy (which was fulfilled in 1978) without any theologian objecting to that prophecy. Secondly, Christ’s promise to remain with His Church until the end of time was not tied to any particular see. In fact, the Church has had various sees in its history, first in Jerusalem, then briefly in Antioch, after that in Rome, and now following the apostasy of the roman hierarchy it has its see in El Palmar de Troya, Seville, Spain, where it resists Hell’s most furious onslaughts without giving in, thanks to the assistance of Christ and Mary.

How is it possible for the True Catholic Church to be unknown by the vast majority of the world’s population?

It’s not the first time it has occurred; in the early days it was even mistaken for another Jewish sect. At the same time it suffered a bloody persecution forcing it into the precarious situation of the catacombs. Centuries later, during the Western Schism, there were doubts even among the Saints themselves as to who was the True Pope.

How should you distinguish then the True Catholic Church?

Christ left us this valuable advice: “By their fruits you shall know them”. Consider how much doctrinal confusion and moral cowardice there is among the roman hierarchy. Even having at their disposal the most efficacious means to make their voice reach the ends of the earth, the corruption still prevails at all levels. Consider then whether they can be true shepherds of God’s people. On the other hand, read and listen to the strong, clear voice of His Holiness Pope Peter III in Palmar de Troya, his zeal for doctrine and morals, his devotion to his faithful children and draw your own conclusions.

What links do you have with the so-called “traditionalists”?

None whatsoever. Although we uphold, defend and practice Traditional Doctrine and the Dogmas defined by the Popes throughout history, we do not take the easy position of “freezing” the Church at a particular historical moment. Moreover, the Palmarian Popes have enriched the Treasury of Divine Revelation with numerous dogmas, masterful explanations and doctrinal advances.

How many Popes have there been in El Palmar de Troya?

Four in total, including the Pope happily reigning, Peter III.

What types of worship do you have?

Firstly there is the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass with its three essential parts: Offertory, Consecration and Sacrificial Communion. The faithful who attend mass in the state of grace can receive communion, kneeling and on the tongue.

The seven Sacraments are also administered: Baptism, Confirmation, Confession, Communion, Extreme Unction, Priestly Orders and Matrimony.

There are numerous prayers but the foremost one is the Holy Penitential Rosary of 50 complete Our Fathers (each one comprising an Our Father, Hail Mary, Glory be and Hail Mary Most Pure).

Furthermore, magnificent and solemn processions take place at the Holy See during the pilgrimages every year. The Eucharistic Procession takes place daily.

Is it possible for those who are not Palmarian to attend the worship?

Yes, as long as respect is shown and the requirements for dress are met. See the Norms of Palmarian Christian Decency.

How do you support yourselves economically?

With the faithful’s alms and donations. The One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Palmarian Church does not receive money from the State nor does it sell its publications. All the Sacraments as well as bibles, prayer books, scapulars etc are distributed free of charge.

What would be the first step to become a member of the One, Holy, Catholic, Apostolic and Palmarian Church?

Send an email to the Holy Palmarian See, ocsficp@gmail.com. It would also be worth reading the Norms of Palmarian Christian Decency in order to enter the Church grounds in Palmar de Troya.

I like everything but what assurance do I have that the Palmarian Church is the True Church?

This assurance is received directly from Heaven, but in order to receive it you have to do your part. For a start, you would need to pray the Holy Penitential Rosary every day. See Penitential Rosary.

What are the most difficult norms to keep?

With the help of God and His Most Holy Mother nothing is too difficult. However Christ puts us to the test many times to see how much we are prepared to suffer in this life for love of Him. “Whoever has My commandments and keeps them, is one who loves Me. Whoever loves Me will be loved by My Father. I will love him and manifest Myself to him, dwelling in his soul.”

What if my family is against it?

God comes first. We must love God above all things. That is how Jesus taught us in the Gospel: “Whoever loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; whoever loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever does not take up his cross and follow Me is not worthy of Me. Whoever, at the cost of losing his soul keeps his life, will lose eternal life; and whoever loses his life for love of Me, shall find it again in Heaven.”.

What about the sufferings caused by the incomprehension of others?

We must accept them with christian resignation. We must remember the words of Christ “Come to Me all you who are weary and are burdened, and I will relieve you. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, who am meek and humble of heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For My yoke is sweet and My burden Light.”

Are there important or well-known people that became part of the Order of the Carmelites of the Holy Face?

See Important People in the History of the Palmarian Church. On this page you can read about many priests and nuns who left the corrupt roman church to go to El Palmar.
